Orlando-based, award-winning songwriter gains national exposure with new American Cancer Society promotional video.
Orlando, Fla. – January 14, 2008- Nick Nanton, an Orlando music lawyer, songwriter and producer co-wrote “I Won’t Give Up” with cancer survivor Hanna Peterson. The song has been selected to be featured on the American Cancer Society’s upcoming promotional video to promote “Reaching Out to Kids with Cancer” camps.
The American Cancer Society is a nationwide voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. Their mission is to “concentrate on capacity building in developing cancer societies and on collaboration with other cancer-related organizations throughout the world in carrying out shared strategic directions.”
Nanton and Peterson wrote the song back in 2003 when Peterson, age 12, was undergoing treatment for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

“Hanna and I wrote this song as a part of her healing process. It became her mantra and as we have come to find out, it resonates with many others in a similar situation. It has taken on a life of its own and we’re both really excited to see it being used for such a great cause,” Nanton said.
